Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must show ability to produce all bakery items to include but not limited to:
  • Breads and bread dough, pizza dough, cookies, cakes and cake decorating, muffins, danish, desserts, puddings, pies, Jello, icings, pastry cream, crème anglaise, and fondant. The ability to create or recreate custom cakes
  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow recipes to completion either for a made from scratch item or finishing of a pre fabricated item.
  • Ensure that all bakery items are set up on time for service, ensure that all bakery items are maintained for optimum presentation appeal and have proper quantity of bakery items during service.
  • Train, instruct, and assign job tasks to other potential bakery helpers
  • Follow recipes and production records
  • Job tasks to include, but not limited to, ensure proper production quality and quantity for the day and the meal at hand.
  • Responsible for quality standards set forth by Executive Chef.
  • Use batch cooking methods
  • Prep production for the next day, anticipate and take action toward the needs of upcoming events
  • Follow assigned break schedule as posted at.
  • Check with manager before punching out in full uniform.
  • Wear complete, clean, uniform including name tag, safety shoes and hat as designated by the company,
  • Assist Executive Chef as needed,
  • Do not leave your assigned work area with out prior notifying a manager of the nature of your absence from your work area.
  • Other tasks can be assigned as determined by management

Food Safety/Sanitation

  • Maintain proper storage and handling of food and leftovers to include date labels.
  • Record and maintain daily records of the day’s production, temperatures, and leftovers
  • Ensure hot food is hot and cold food is cold using proper preparation procedures and temperature controls.

Maintain kitchen standards in sanitation and health code requirements through delegation of kitchen clean-up assignments. Maintain all sanitation and health codes as designated by the company.

Eunices; Bakery

To prepare and display product in the department in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner and ensuring that all product is fresh, rotated, and well-stocked for our customers while maintaining great customer service.

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and interact positively with customers.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location.
  • Authorized to work within the U.S.

  • Commit to the “Golden Rule” and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team.
  • Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is Respectful, Supportive and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO).
  • Train other associates as needed.
  • Provide premier customer service, including greeting and responding to questions, assisting at the service counter, and offering product suggestions.
  • Dynamically selling products by providing customers with information needed to make product-relation decisions.
  • Following Eunices’ Bakery guidelines for Cake Decorators.
  • Write on cakes/prepare product to meet customers specifications.
  • Icing, decorating, traying, packaging, labeling, pricing products for island refrigerated cases, and maintaining refrigerated service showcase.
  • Filling customer special orders, including all catering platter offers, as well as custom cake requests to include up and to wedding cakes and assisting with delivery and set up as needed.
  • Operating the Bakery department mixer.
  • Prepare and wrap bakery related products.
  • Maintaining Eunices’ Bakery high standards for product freshness and sanitation.
  • Organizing and rotating stock in the Decorator's section of the freezer and cooler.
  • Process merchandise according to production guidelines and follow established sanitation standards.
  • Practice proper sanitation procedures.
  • Stock display cases, and keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out).
  • Receive and unload bakery product and store in designated area.
  • Monitor and maintain the cooler, freezer, equipment, and work area to the sanitation standards of the company.
  • Keep work area swept clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards; report hazards to management.
  • Able to operate and clean the bakery equipment and tools.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest cost supply.
  • Promote items on public address system.
  • Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement.
  • Successful completion of the onboarding/e-learnings and checklist within 30 days of hire/entering the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Safety Risk Factors

Occasionally expect Loud noise, cluttered floor surface, contact with skin irritant, toxic exposure (see material safety data sheet), nuisance dust, fumes, sprays, and hazardous cleaning solutions. Twisting of back and neck, contact with sharp objects, and slippery floor surface. Hazardous equipment (mechanical moving parts)

Fryer, ordering equipment, slicer, case cutter, ovens, proofer, bread slicer, kitchen utensils, electronic scales, mixer, shrink film wrapper, roller racks, unicarts, double deckers, skids, baler, pricing gun, trash compactor, water hose, intercom system, sink, cake machine, cooler, freezer, pricing gun, approved cleaning supplies and equipment. YOU WILL:

  • Wash dishes, pots, etc using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Maintain cleanliness in dishwashing and prep kitchen work stations.
  • Stock cleaning supplies and dishes in their respective areas.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pick up areas.
  • Support team members and managers with daily cleaning tasks.
  • Gain exposure to different stations within the DIG kitchen including but not limited to garde manger, grill, roast, market line, and prep.
  • Work to support the team during peak and off peak service, by pitching in wherever and whenever necessary.
  • Multi-task and move in the kitchen for extended periods of time. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
